Accident Summary

PRELIMINARY: A sidecountry skier triggered and was buried in an avalanche in the backcountry near White Pass Ski Area. The NWAC reported the slab as 8-10 inches deep and 600 feet wide slab. Apparently the victim was carried into a terrain trap where the debris piled deeper. The accident was near the pass level on a run locally called the Grand Couloir.
