Accident Summary

PRELIMINARY: The victim and a friend were snowmobiling in the McCoy Creek area, near the Idaho/Wyoming state line. The victim was buried in an avalanche around 11:40. His friend used an avalanche transceiver to locate the victim, dug him out from 2 to 3 feet of avalanche debris, called 911, and began CPR. "After a short while it was determined that [the victim] was deceased from injuries in the slide." Search and Rescue teams were able to recover the victim's body.
