Accident Summary

PRELIMINARY: The victim was traveling alone. He was found with crampons on his boots, and skis on his pack. Rescuers assume he was ascending when the avalanche released. The avalanche caught him and swept him into trees.

When the victim did not return from his trip, friends alerted the police. Seattle Mountain Rescue located the body about 21:00, in avalanche debris several hundred feet below an avalanche crown.
