Area Description:
independence pass skier triggered deep slab avalanche at 11,500 ft. North facing aspect.Fractured all the way across the face, and propagated all the way down to the ground on old rotten facets. Crown ranged from 2 ft to over 10 ft in depth. Ran 2,000+ feet and across the road. all three in party lucky to be alive. don't let your guard down on high elevation northerly aspects, just like the avy report says.
