Caption: Loose wet avalanches on a southeast aspect of Engineer Mountain. Estimated to run on 2/23. Sluffing from steep, rocky terrain easily entrained additional snow while moving down the slope. South San Juan. Photo taken on 2/26/21.

Caption: Various large and very large avalanches of several vintages. Most notable is the D3 off of the Malamute ridge (sheep saddle) that is coded in another Obs. Hard to put a date on this as it looks to be triggered by cornice fall Feb 22? but could be later. The older slide to the right was perhaps Feb 7th? Unknown dates on the N facing slides near Castle peak. In the circle are some loose wet. Photo: 2021.2.26

Caption: A CAIC Forecaster takes a look at the surface and near-surface snowpack conditions in the Front Range. Although the layers near the ground are weak and concerning, we still have to pay attention to what new snow will fall on as a storm moves in on Thursday.

Caption: Slabs over weak snow on a south aspect near treeline. It is harder to affect the weak layers low in the snowpack but if you did the slab above is quite massive and the avalanche would be large.
