• Avalanche Description: natural trigger, large to very large avalanche failing near ground (guess), crown looks many feet deep, running into Green Lake and breaking ice, causing tidal wave across lake, overrunning bench and continuing down slope. impressive. Irwin Guides reported slide ~9:30am. winds on nearby weather station spiked to 12mph G26 at 8am.

Landmark: Ruby Range Elevation: 12600 ft Maximum Vertical: 1300 ft Comments: This event pushed more water out Green Lake that what's been see in recent years. Lots of volume in this path for this early in the season. Often more ice and deeper snow cover the lake, limiting the amount of water that gets sloshed out. This event pushed water a long ways down the slope below the lake.
