Avalanche
Caught in an avalanche
A skier was caught and carried in a Loose Dry avalanche. The skier was unaware they triggered the avalanche further up the slope and as the avalanche gained mass and momentum it caught up to them and knocked them off their feet losing a ski in the process. The skier was able to self-arrest before being dragged into a stand of trees but lost a pole as well. Other members of the skiers group were able to locate their skis.
