Backcountry Area: Northern San Juan

Observation Summary
Lots of wind and blowing snow. First member of our party triggered a D1 Storm Slab on the upper, skiers left side of the X. Skier was able to ski out to the side and into the trees. We preceded to pick our way down after that. Skin track was buried on the second lap, starting at about 11,000ft. Lots of sluffing in the trees on the way down. We picked a more conservitive route with hardly any open areas for the second lap. Ski pen was knee deep. Riding conditions were blower, avy conditions are on the rise.

Toured up Anvil ridge and rode the X. Toured up for a second lap and rode some tight trees
