Observation Summary
Dead Tree Chute released ~8" deep and ran the length of the chute. All within the storm snow at the density change. The other observed avalanche was a release from a ski track in the lower canyon. This was above the Nostrils just before the opening below Hells Wall. This slab was approximately 20' wide and 12"-15" deep and ran approximatly 30'.
Route Description
Steamboat Ski Area exited Gate 3 through Dead Tree Chute then back into the resort and skiers right above the Nostrils.
