Report Information
Observation Summary
A large to very large natural avalanche was spotted on the Megaface of Sheep Mountain. This likely released sometime in the later afternoon or overnight on April 3rd (reports from skiers in the aprons yesterday indicate it wasn't there yesterday). It's hard to determine what caused this avalanche, as wind speeds decreased yesterday and overnight. Also, observed several older avalanches, including a Wind Slab avalanche on Sheep Mountain and an old Wet Slab avalanche above San Bernardo.
Area Description
