A video was viewed on Facebook of a snowmobiler remotely triggering an avalanche above Pumphouse Lake on an east-facing slope, which sympathetically triggered a slide on the southeast face of Mt Epworth. The slope above the lake has been the site of several fatal avalanche accidents. The most recent accident was on January 7, 2023.
