Report Information
Observation Summary
After a few stormy days in the Red Mountain Pass area, very little new snow was observed, and many slopes looked like they did last week. On average, I found 4 inches of heavy settled snow on sheltered northely slopes above treeline, while sunny and below treeline slopes were back to crusts, dirt, and dust. The new snow was warming in the sun and shedding on steep sunny slopes, but with the lack of new snow volume, mostly just rollerballs. The old snow was refrozen. Travel below treeline was challenging with the spotty coverage.
