Observation Summary
There is so much variability with the wind that it is hard to piece things into much of a generalization. At times I was skiing soft facets snow and then impenetrable windslabs with everything in between. I did jump on a few 40 degree test slopes and the was no movement in the surface slab that feels stubborn. Below treeline when trees were thick there was zero slab but in more open areas there was a midpack slab. In a pit I was able to get propagating results on a layer of facets about 40cm deep and another on the basal facets (not depth hoar ).
