Accident Report
South Diamond Peak, northwest of Cameron Pass - CO
Accident Summary
Witnessed a party of two with two dogs trigger an avalanche on the Wave around ~1230pm (no one was caught). It appeared wet in nature and there were rollerballs. Later I witnessed the same group at the top of The Gash. At 1:55pm the first splitboarder dropped the line and set off a small wet avalanche and rode to the bench and was not caught (nor the first dog). The avalanche went to the recent crust layer. The second skier did a turn and sent a larger avalanche and got caught. Within seconds the skier was not visible and then the skier deployed his airbag and slid the end of the line. The second dog was caught in another small avalanche but was not buried.
